Two of Everything?
Matthew 7:13-27

· The Way

·  The Highway to Hell (7:13)

§ Easy to Find

· Follow the Crowds… Luke 14: Jesus told the crowds : "anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple." And " any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple."

§ Easy to Follow

· Look inward, it is all about you…

¨ My rights, my entitlements, I deserve….

§ Easy to Fall

· I have fallen and I can't get up… slippery slope

· The High Way Leads to Heaven (7:14)

§ One Must Look

· John 12:31 describes satan as " the prince or ruler of this world"

§ One Must Sacrifice

· The way of life is narrow, lonely, and costly. We can walk on the broad way and keep our “baggage” of sin and worldliness. But if we enter the narrow way, we must give up those things.

§ One Must Be Attentive

·You Cannot "take your religion too seriously"

· The Watch

False Prophets (Prophet= someone who professes to speak for God psyoo·dace/] lying, deceitful, false.

· The Theatrics

§ They pretend to be sheep (7:15a)

· They look good

· They Sound Good

· The Truth

§ They prove to be wolves (7:15b)

· Self-seeking

· Self Satisfying

· The Test

§ Their Fruit:

· Bad Fruit (Gal. 5:19-21)

· Good Fruit (Gal. 5:22-23)

· The Warning

· The Rejects (7:21b–23)

§ They Do

· Call Jesus Lord, but in word only

§ They Did

· Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?

· The Real (7:21a)

§ They Do

· Call Jesus Lord…

§ They Did

· The will of God

· They did what they did for God's Purpose, in His time, In His way

· The Reason (7:24–27)

§ Bad Builders

· Hearing but not Doing

· Knowing but not Trusting

§ Good Builder

· Hears and Does

· Knows and Stands
